NMBW Staff
Ron Solimon, chief executive officer and president of the Indian Pueblo
Cultural Center and Indian Pueblos Marketing, has been elected chairman
of the board of directors for the National Center for American Indian
Enterprise Development.
The National Center, located in Mesa, Ariz., has helped more than 26,000
Indian enterprises and secured more than $1 billion in financing and
contracts for Indian businesses. It has trained more than 10,000 tribal
members in business management. It secures more than $400 million
annually in procurements for clients.
Solimon is a member of the Laguna Pueblo. He called his election a
"tremendous honor" and says tribes and tribal entrepreneurs are at a
critical crossroads.
"The National Center will play a key role in maneuvering those crossroads
and making positive and sustainable economic impacts in the business
world," he said in a prepared statement.
